Introduction to Steep Creeking
Are you interested in developing the skills that will allow you to explore the exciting possibilities of steep? If so, this course is for you!
This two-day course is designed specifically for intermediate paddlers who have the desire to work on their creeking skills in order to begin enjoying many of the rivers in the U.K. The overall aim is to build your boating confidence and skills, we will practice tight eddy turns, boofing, running waterfalls, getting out of holes, the latest’s boating manoeuvres, scouting, and setting up "safety" for your paddling partners. In this supportive environment, we will focus on skills necessary to get you and you’re paddling companions down technical white water runs, safely.
This is an action packed coaching program aimed at Intermediate boaters wanting to improve performance and gain experience in this challenging environment.
What can a Steep Creeking course provide me?
The main focus of this course will be perfecting the skills to deal with drops and small falls, this means not just learning the techniques, but also knowing how to best adapt your technique to suit the imposed demands of the river. By the end of this course you’ll have acquired a solid foundation from which to further explore the steep creeking and continue your development. What level of ability do I need to be?
In order to get the best out of this course you should feel confident on grade 3+ water. You must have a reliable white water roll (80%+ effective). You should also be reasonably fit as there is a certain amount of trekking with boats involved. If you have little confidence with drops and falls or your roll is not coincident then check out our Free-ride V2 or White Water Rolling Courses.
