Burners Ripping it up! (2008-06-20)
Paddlers on the KJO Junior Burners Program have been enjoying top spot results in the first two events of the Youth Freestyle Series. In all the classes KJO burners head up the field holding many of the top three positions.It’s a perfect result for KJO who re-launched the Program in 2008. The Program provides a route towards sporting excellence specifically in Freestyle and Whitewater paddling.
Using the coaching knowledge KJO have accrued over the last 15 years the program is unlike any other canoeing program as it offers young athletes continued development through mentoring and regular coaching. It strives on a respectful culture where junior paddlers are educated to be future champions.KJO Burners Program Co-ordinator Tom Wolstenholme commented:-
“ We are so pleased with the results. To see the hard work start paying off is rewarding for both the athletes and coaches. Well done, but watch this space as the program will just get better and better and of course along with that our Burners performance.”
